Héctor Tuy

For nearly ten years, Mr. Tuy (40) has worked with government agencies, NGOs, and local communities in design, execution and evaluation of complex projects linking the environment to development (USAID, BMZ, GTZ, and GEF). He served as director of planning and advisor for the National Council of Protected Areas. Currently is editor of the Environment Profile of Guatemala and manages the Integrated Environmental and Economic Accounting System of Guatemala Project to provide a transparent information system for strategic planning and policy analysis which can be used to identify more sustainable paths of development for Guatemala. Supports technical and managerial requirements as advisor for the National Central Bank (BANGUAT), the National Statistics Institute (INE), the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN), the National Secretariat of Planning (SEGEPLAN) and the Presidential Women’s Secretariat (SEPREM).
