 I have done a first class M.Sc (Hons)/M.Phil in Agriculture with specialization in Water Management from NWFP Agricultural University Peshawar, Pakistan. I have got experience of working with International and National organizations like ICIMOD, APN, as well as Government departments like PARC, NARC, WRRI, NTRI, (MINFA), PCRWR (MOST) at the start of my professional carrier at National Level.


 I have a multi-dimensioned experience of about 11 years of implementation of National and International Projects related to Water Resources, Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs), Agriculture, Environment, Climate Change Impacts, Adaptation, Mitigation (Clean Development Mechanism) etc.

 I have worked in capacity of both as Acting Head and CDM Expert (Forestry/Agriculture) from 20th January, 2007 to 30th June, 2011 in CDM Cell, Ministry of Environment which was acting as Designated National Authority (DNA) for CDM in Pakistan and I am only CDM Expert having maximum CDM experience in the country. During four years and five months and 10 days time period in CDM Cell my performance was remain outstanding and from the end of 2008 onward I had single handily run the CDM Cell smoothly. When I joined my service at that time there was only 1 CDM Project in the Pakistan and now 36 CDM Projects have got Host Country Approval and 160 CDM Projects are in Pipeline in the country. I have organized 64 CDM Awareness Raising and Capacity Building Events due to which CDM Project activities are promoted in shortest possible time in the country. I have assisted National and International Academia, Research and Development Institutions, CDM Project Developers, Technology Providers, CDM Investors, Representatives of CDM Potential Sectors from Public and Private Sectors about CDM Project eligibilities, host country approval and possibility of CDM Project in all CDM eligible sectors in Pakistan. I have prepared PC-Is for CDM Cell and PHRD Projects and Mega Forestry Sector of Pakistan i.e. CDM Component of PC-Is of Mega Forestry Projects in all four provinces and AJK and due to this interventions Finance Division has allocated about 13 Billions Pak. Rs. initially for implementation of Mega Forestry Projects in the country. e. CDM Component of PC-Is of Mega Forestry Projects in all four provinces and AJK and due to this interventions Planning commission of Pakistan has allocated 16 Billions Rs. For implementation of Mega Forestry Projects in Pakistan.

Completed CDM Project in Forestry Sector

To participate in the development of CDM Projects in the sector including baseline and monitoring

a. I was involved in preparation of Five (5) CDM Project Design Document (PDDs) Developments for implementation of Carbon Sequestration projects through provincial Forestry Departments in all four provinces, AJK, Gilgit-Balchistan in Pakistan. Following are the activities in which I was involved in these projects in Hands-on training capacity building of forest officials in developing proposals for Afforestation/Reforestation CDM project funded by SDC and implemented by Inter-Cooperation, Pakistan and CDM Cell, Ministry of Environment, Government of Pakistan. I have done following activities in this project;

i. Preparation of Project description Note (PDN) for 5 CDM Projects in Forestry Sectors
ii. Development of National Forest Definition for implementation of CDM Projects in forestry sector of Pakistan which is pre-requisite for implementation of CDM Projects in any developing country by taking all relevant stakeholders on board by conducting stakeholder consultation meeting
iii. Prepare the definition of low income communities and individuals,
iv. Develop a framework for the ownership of CERs generated from Carbon Sequestration CDM Projects in the country
v. Analyze the possibility of CDM Sectoral approach and evaluate its requirements
vi. Develop a definition of Significant potential negative impacts of CDM Projects in forestry sectors in the country
vii. Analyze the requirements and procedures for environmental impact Assessment and Social impact Assessment
viii. Identify requirement from potential CERs buyers
ix. Provide technical input from project inception to complete project of all 5 CDM Projects in all four provinces, AJK, Gilgit-Balchistan in Pakistan.


Assisted UNIDO Project for capacity building and Awareness Raising Campaign

 Participated as Resource Person in following 6 CDM Awareness Workshops and stakeholders Consultative meetings of UNIDO Project

 I have reviewed the deliverables of UNIDO Project


World Bank funded PHRD Grant

 Prepared and got approval of the PC-1 of Capacity Building for Implementation of Carbon Finance Projects in Pakistan PHRD Project for CDM Project Capacity Building in Pakistan

 Participated as Resource Person in 7 Project Idea Note and Project Design Development Capacity Building Trainings in all CDM Potential sectors of Pakistan.

 I have reviewed the deliverables of M/S Winrock International under this PHRD Project



Achievement in 2009 as Year of Environment

Beside my regular activities as CDM Expert, I was also looking after CDM Cell as Acting Head from February 2009 to May 2010 as well looking after three foreign funded projects namely PHRD, UNODO and SDC Projects as well.

Presently, I am only CDM Expert in CDM Cell and during 2009-10 I have organized 28 CDM Awareness Raising and Capacity Building Events and achieved the target of 100 CDM Projects in Pipeline in year 2009 successfully.
