Ecosystem Marketplace’s Forest Carbon Project Inventory is a dynamic, searchable database of forest-based carbon offset projects around the world. The aim of this first-of-its-kind inventory is to provide a centralized, comprehensive, global database of forest carbon projects linked up to carbon markets.

"Operational Projects" refer to those that have completed transactions of carbon credits or have been validated under an offset standard. 

"Transactions of carbon credits" includes traditional transactions as well as projects that communicate a volume of CO₂-equivalent to a funder in exchange for funding, or have signed commitments to transfer carbon credits in the future once they are generated.  While many of these projects may be validated or verified to a particular standard, many have not, and the standards identified in the project profiles were identified by the Project Proponents directly or in their public documentation. 

Most of these projects have contributed information about their activities to our annual State of the Forest Carbon Markets report.  Find the 2009 report here.

"Pipeline Projects" refer to those projects that have yet to transact carbon credits or complete validation under an offset standard.
