"Money Talks": The forest countries have to see the economic benefits of REDD +

29 May 2012

BONN, Germany (May 25, 2012) __ The developing countries will be motivated to change their business practices and investing in REDD schemes + until it is certain that the financial contributions that have been taken to promote the mechanism of carbon forest will materialize in the future, experts said outside the climate change talks in Bonn.

"Money talks," said Maria Brockhaus , a scientist at the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), in a side event to the meetings of the Subsidiary Bodies of the UNFCCC. "The prospect of financing REDD is already changing the game, but if we want the change is transformative and not be only on the surface, there must be certainty about what they will receive forest countries under the scheme of REDD +".
