Lilongwe, Malawi (full-time) Responsibilities
- Manage the implementation of carbon development work plans in Malawi with in-country implementing partner(s)
- Work closely with the Terra team in San Francisco to leverage the established processes and procedures used to develop carbon
- Manage field data collection and monitoring by local in-country teams, including training, planning, managing, and quality control, and ensuring data organization and security
- Ensure consistent and timely flow of information and data from the field to the Terra San Francisco team
- Coordinate training sessions and discussions with government and communities in Malawi to develop agreements regarding carbon rights and benefit sharing
- Research and manage all relevant background documents regarding land tenure, natural resource rights, etc
- Work with the in-country implementing partner to set-up the monitoring processes and procedures necessary to support project verification on an on-going basis
- Prepare regular reports for internal and external use
- Experience in project design and implementation of community-based projects
- Understanding of AFOLU market standards, guidelines and protocols
- Direct experience in multi-partner project management for natural resource projects
- Developing country field level work
- Experience working in an international organization
- Strong operational and project management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with partners
- Ability to work independently and self-manage deadlines and deliverables
- Ability to work physically challenging field conditions
- Ability to train, motivate, and manage field crews with different degrees of experience and education
- Excellent and proven written skills in English.
- At least 5 years of work experience in the natural resources sector
- Coursework or practical experience in applied natural sciences desired
